![]() Welcome to Arizona Desert Elementary, home of the coyotes. We H.O.W.L. with pride, given that we are a newer school. Located in the Tolleson district, you can find us in arid suburbs of Phoenix by the 101 and I-10 freeways. We've made great strides to become a terrific K-8 school and we're glad you're taking a few moments to read about us here at our Internet home. Take some time to become familiar with Arizona Desert Elementary. We invite you to visit campus and keep in contact with our teachers. We've also provided a calendar and some helpful links. We appreciate your assistance to help us make schooling a good experience for your child. ![]() As we move into the second quarter, we start setting our sights on the AIMS test in April. Teachers have been assessing students using our updated district benchmark assessments, which are aligned with the AIMS. Scores from benchmark assessments are used to drive instruction and group students homogeneously to give students the specific skills they need. Our new Language! program allows students to work at their level while increasing student achievement. Students are getting all the background knowledge they need to be successful in their content areas and to move to grade-level classes. The ELD program is also running smoothly with classes transitioning nicely. Construction on our new administrative building is well underway. It should be complete by fourth quarter and we will move over the summer. The building will hold administrative offices, a new library and computer lab, as well as office space and a teacher’s lounge and workroom. We are all looking forward to the completion of the building as it will allow us to add new classrooms in the current administrative office space. Thank you all for your support this year. Your child can only reach his or her potential with your involvement! Please check our Web site often for updates and upcoming events.
